Why I am Inspired to be a RISE Mentor: To share all the life that has been poured into me from so many different people! I want to use my experience in sport to build up athletes who may have not had the same opportunities I had while growing up
What would I tell my 13-year-old self: To have more fun while competing during the sport. It is just a game
Favorite way to focus: Taking a step back from the action, highlight my key/best attributes I can execute the best in that moment, and then attack.
Best way to rest/recover: Sleep and more sleep
Fun Fact: I once fit 28 grapes in my mouth
My Favorite Mentoring Moment: As an age grouper, I was always scared to fail until my dad took me to the pool one day. Just my dad and myself at the pool, we practiced how to fail. He took me out and taught me that when I fail in my sport, nothing happens. Those moments of failure didn't hurt me physically, nor did I become a different person because of that failure. It merely opened my mind that failure is perfectly <ne and is actually welcomed. That day taught me that failure is an opportunity for me to learn what I can get better at!
